Uruguay river
The Uruguay River is one of the major rivers in South America, stretching approximately 1,700 kilometers. Originating in southern Brazil, it forms the natural border between Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay before flowing into the Río de la Plata. It is characterized by unspoiled landscapes, rich biodiversity and highly valuable natural ecosystems.
Amid the waters of this majestic river lies a wild territory where every cast promises the pure thrill of fishing. Here, the Dorado, a legendary predator of South America, reigns supreme in an environment of breathtaking beauty.
Between wooded islands and submerged rocky areas, the river shapes a unique landscape, where sunken trunks and currents become the hiding spots of great predators. It is in these settings of rock and rushing water that the magic happens, where even the slightest bite triggers an explosion of power.
The section we target, located on a stretch of river with low fishing pressure, offers direct access to rocky and fast-flowing areas, a true paradise for passionate anglers. Accompanied by our experienced guides, you will explore rocky banks, islands and fallen trees where the most combative Dorados lie in wait.
In these powerful currents, you’ll hunt for trophy Dorados topping 20 pounds, hard-hitting predators famous for their explosive leaps and lightning-fast strikes. The legendary Uruguay River has produced multiple world-record catches, offering anglers a once-in-a-lifetime adventure in some of the most vibrant waters on Earth.
We have designed a 9-day program, including 6 full fishing days, reserved for groups of up to 6 anglers. Fishing days last approximately 8 to 9 hours. Each day includes a lunch break, followed by a period of relaxation before heading back out to experience new thrills on the water.
Accommodation during the trip will be in a hotel, in a double room, with breakfast included.
Traditional techniques include casting and spinning, while fly fishing is also highly effective. Anglers will always be accompanied by a professional fishing guide, which is why all anglers, regardless of their skill level, are welcome.
