VICHADA & TUPARRO RIVER
This is a unique trip, unlike any other in Colombia, where anglers have the opportunity to explore two major rivers: the Vichada River, with its vast lagoons and enormous Peacock Bass and the Tuparro River, where the Peacock Bass fishing will be more focused in the river itself.
The Vichada River runs through the department of the same name, flowing into the Orinoco River and forming the northern boundary of the Matavén jungle, which boasts great biodiversity. Evidence of this includes its 249 recorded bird species and more than 137 different species of fish.
The Tuparro River is located to the north of the Vichada River and runs parallel to it. This river flows through the Tuparro National Park, eventually emptying into the Orinoco River. The river is not often frequented by humans, which is why it is not uncommon to see animals such as tapirs, capybaras, caimans, various types of monkeys and more, along with a large number of birds, as the national park is home to over 300 different species.

We have designed this unique 17 days trip in Colombia, with 13 fishing days, for groups of up to 10 anglers to minimize fishing pressure as much as possible. Due to the proximity of the accommodations to the different rivers, fishing days will begin at 6 AM and end at 6 PM.
Individual accommodation at the Vichada River, with electricity, a shelf, a mosquito net and a fan, although the nights are cool. Each bed is equipped with sheets, as well as a towel per room. At the Tuparro River, each guest will have their own large individual tent. Each tent is equipped with the same amenities as at the Vichada River. Every day, if guests wish, they can leave clothes to be washed and will find them clean and dry upon returning from their day of fishing.
Fishing can be done using conventional methods, such as casting or spinning, as well as fly fishing, which is highly effective.
In the Vichada River, where fishing mainly takes place in lagoons, a high technical level is not required, good casting accuracy is usually enough. On the other hand, the Tuparro River demands greater skill, as its faster current requires precise casts to avoid snags.
Fishing can be done using conventional techniques such as casting or spinning and another highly effective option is fly fishing.
We welcome both experienced anglers and beginners.
